Persija Jakarta is an Indonesia football club from Jakarta . It is one of Indonesia's most successful clubs and the
most popular sports club in the city. Persija Jakarta was founded on November
28, 1928, with the embryo called Voetbalbond Indonesische Jacatra (VIJ). VIJ is
one who co-founded the club Football Association All of Indonesia (PSSI) with
the participation of representatives VIJ, Mr. Soekardi in the formation of
Societeit PSSI Hadiprojo Yogyakarta, Saturday, April 19, 1930.
Persija Jakarta is
Indonesia's most successful football team, having won 10 trophies including a
joint-record 9 Perserikatan titles and 1 Liga
Indonesia titles. Persija was the only club who has never been
relegated from the highest level of football Indonesia from their first
appearance in 1930.
In the
time of the Dutch East Indies, the name of Persija is VIJ (Voetbalbond
Indonesische Jacatra). VIJ was one who co-founded the club Football Association
of Indonesia (PSSI) with the participation of representatives from VIJ, Mr.
Soekardi in the establishment of PSSI in Societeit Hadiprojo Yogyakarta,
Saturday, April 19, 1930. Post-Republic of Indonesia back to the Unitary State,
VIJ renamed to Persija (Football Association of Indonesia, Jakarta). At that
time, NIVU (Nederlandsch Indisch Voetbal Unie) as a rival organization PSSI
still exist. On the other side, VBO (Voetbalbond Batavia en Omstreken) as bond

Selatan, Jakarta.

Thamrin is one of the national heroes who cares about VIJ who now become
Persija Jakarta, because he also likes football and he was born in Jakarta. He
also take care of various things about Persija including the stadium.
Reportedly Stadion VIJ in Petojo, Central Jakarta was also constructed by
MH Thamrin using his own money.
Persija's
play home matches at Gelora Bung Karno Stadium and Lebak Bulus Stadium .
Persija's new home stadium, Jakarata BMW Stadium is still under
construction which is scheduled to finish in 2015. Before in Gelora Bung
Karno Stadium and Lebak Bulus Stadium, Persija's previously have been
played at Menteng Stadium.
